I'm certainly aware that this version is extremely color dependent, but obviously the color is a huge draw. I spent several hours wrestling with it until I got the palette just how I wanted it, and I think I'm pretty darn happy with it
I'm planning on working up a shaded version of the volumetric guy, so we'll see how that goes. Obviously it's not going to have the same impact of this honed color version.
For the font. Yes, it's custom built (starting with the "A" as the basic foundation) I've designed a few more characters, but not the full set as of yet...
i like the colors you chose too as they are a unique bunch the shades on the logo in the link make it a bit better as they offer more detail and depth
i have no clue if you are interested in making fonts but i'd like to see this one in a full working version as i was recently working on something and one thing led to another and i got a bunch of characters that i am very happy with and was thinking of making them a full font..if i find the time
Thanks again! I'll have to play around a bit with a B/W shaded version of the 3D guy, and see if I can work that out.
As far as fonts go, I definitely have a few faces that are (WIP) I just haven't had the time to finish them.
This is another one I've been working on for a bit: [link]
As you said, most all of them have derived from other things I've worked on. I love typography, and I love playing around with letter forms. For sure, when I find the time, a full font is definitely on my list of things to do!
yes , yes, i saw it while i was browsing to see the london debut logo on your flickr gallery a nice one as well, the "R" especially is quite unique - i'm curios how it would be developed further and if you could the same "R" idea for other characters as well...
I have about 14 character in that set so far...so it's on the way. I definitely want to incorporate the interest of the "R", but the balance always lies with the need to ensure that the font overall is practical enough to be used as a consistent display face. I may actually keep that guy on hold for a bit, and go forward with this type instead...
